<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
It's december and Christmas again, what do you want for this holiday seasons? do you want new car? or new house, what about new camera? X100F maybe...there are a lot of things you can get for this Christmas.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fujifilm X100F, just like the rest of the X100 series cameras is in fact photographer's camera, it has range finder style retro looking and lots of physical control like buttons and dials. It's literally the camera that would show up when you ask someone to draw a camera.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
So getting X100F as a gift for someone who love photography is always a good idea, that person would be very excited getting X100F as Christmas gift. I wish someone would do that for me :)<br />
<br />
Anyway, i would like to say Merry Christmas and happy holiday for all of you guys, thanks for reading this blog, i really appreciate it, thank you for your support, it means a lot to me. Once again Merry Christmas and happy holiday!<br />

<br />
According to national geographic, fujifilm X100F is the best traveling street photography camera in 2017. This is no surprise because X100 series is well known in the street photography category.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
National Geographic Tom O'Brien says X100F is significant update over the previous version X100T, we got new sensor 24MP X-Trans version 3, new battery NP-W126S which is bigger than the previous model but compatible with other X-Series system, new joystick for quick moving the focus point area.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
FYI, Tom O'Brien is a mechanical engineer and the photo engineer for National Geographic magazine. He designs and builds custom equipment for the photographers of the magazine. So this guy works with a lot of cameras and knows about camera for sure.
</div>
<div class="example" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 29px;">
<blockquote style="background: rgb(249 , 249 , 249); border-left-color: rgb(204 , 204 , 204); border-left-style: solid; border-left-width: 10px; box-sizing: border-box; color: black; margin: 1.5em 10px; padding: 0.5em 10px;">
<b>Pick for Travelers:</b> The X100F is the fourth in a line of beloved cameras. This significant update brings with it the powerful 24 MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor used in Fuji’s flagship cameras. It also brings it a very needed autofocus system overhaul upgrade that makes this iteration nimble and quick when shooting on the fly. Other noticeable improvements include using a much larger battery, additional control buttons and a joystick that is commonly found on high end cameras. The X100F continues the cult-like following of its aged siblings while elevating itself to be a technologically powerful camera.</blockquote>

<div class="example" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 29px;">

<b>Pro Tip:</b> This camera thrives in run-and-gun, sly photography. To make sure you get the most out of your travel shooting, bring some gaffers tape to cover up your logos, a wrist strap, and a hot-shoe-mounted thumb rest for those of you with bigger hands. Personally, these accessories round out this camera nicely for me in a wide range of shooting environments.</blockquote>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Along with X100F, X-T2 and X-T20 also included in the top ten compact cameras for travel. X-T2 is the best for overall travel camera and X-T20 as best value travel camera.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifN8eCrZVyQ30wFuv-AOEnTZZU6O-z3MfQU6YBOurn-9fv80Xne_TXqK_pvKw2wlQrLPWdbYwgtn5QMa3Fklj9NWIlzl8vjhxXPPBI6CnCZtI5VbzyYxUeY3gE_qpf5uofSM5OvE6AlvLy/s1600/x100t-with-jjc-lens-hood.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Should i use lens hood on X100F?" border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifN8eCrZVyQ30wFuv-AOEnTZZU6O-z3MfQU6YBOurn-9fv80Xne_TXqK_pvKw2wlQrLPWdbYwgtn5QMa3Fklj9NWIlzl8vjhxXPPBI6CnCZtI5VbzyYxUeY3gE_qpf5uofSM5OvE6AlvLy/s320/x100t-with-jjc-lens-hood.jpg" title="Should i use lens hood on X100F?" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The next question that i get a lot from people who buy X100 series for the first time is should i use lens hood on my X100 series camera? The answer for me would be yes, you should.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For me because i don't like putting UV filter in front of the lens, the only way i could protect the lens is by using a lens hood, metal lens hood in this case.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Using lens hood on fuji X100F not only protect the lens but also control flare that's coming to the lens when you shoot straight to the sun or other light source that can add flare to the image.<br />
<br />
Flare is something that can't be avoid on basically any camera system and any lens, as long as you shoot directly into the sun you will get flare, but with a lens hood at least you can minimize the effect.<br />
<br />
If you do get a lens hood for X100F, you should also pick up a regular 49mm lens cap, because obviously you can't use the lens cap that came with X100F if you put on the lens hood on it.<br />
<br />
Basically there are three items that you need to buy if you want to put lens hood on fujifilm X100F, the lens hood itself, X100 lens adapter ring, and a lens cap.<br />
<br />
Just don't buy the original fujifilm lens hood and adapter ring because they are too expensive, get the third party 49mm lens hood, third party adapter ring for X100, a cheap lens cap and you are ready to go.<br />
<br />
The down side of having lens hood on X100 series camera is that it makes the camera looks bigger and bulkier, but for me that's not really huge problem, in fact i love the look of my X100T when i put a metal lens hood on it.<br />
<br />
There are many types of lens hood for X100 series camera, square metal lens hood, vented lens hood, circle lens hood, any lens hood with 49mm can be use on X100 camera. Just make sure the color of the lens hood match with the body of the camera.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<b><u>PROS </u></b><br />

<li>protect the lens</li>
<li>minimize flare effect</li>
<li>make the camera look bad-ass</li>

<br />
A lot of people asking this question (people who use X100 series for the first time), should i use UV filter on X100F? UV filter on X100F yay or nay?</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you asked me that question, the answer will be no, you don't need additional UV (Ultra Violet) filter on any X100 series camera not just X100F.<br />
<br />
Digital cameras such as fujifilm X100F doesn't need UV filter because the sensor are not sensitive to UV light, unlike film cameras which very sensitive to UV light.<br />
<br />
Using UV filter is important if you shoot film cameras but unnecessary if you shoot digital, since X100F is a digital camera, you really don't need UV filter.<br />
<br />
In fact, a lot of people believe that putting UV filter in front of the lens will reduce the sharpness of the final image, even if you are using high quality UV filter from top manufacture.<br />
<br />
But if you want to protect your lens, UV filter can be very useful, that's probably the only reason why you want to put an UV filter on X100F.<br />
<br />
<u><b>Pros (+)</b></u><br />
<ul>
<li>helps protecting the lens</li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
<b><u>Cons (-)</u></b><br />
<ul>
<li>reduce sharpness and overall image quality</li>
<li>UV filter causes a loss of image quality </li>
<li>makes the camera looks uglier and builkier</li>
<li>possible of heavy vignetting and soft images, specially when using cheap UV filter</li>
<li>add more cost to your budget (as you don't have a choice but to buy the most expensive UV filter)</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you really need an UV filter to protect the lens on X100F, my suggestion is to get the most expensive one, don't get the cheap chinese made UV filter ever or you will regret it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm personally don't use UV filter on any of my cameras, without UV filter all of my lenses (including the 23mm f2.0 on X100F) are working just fine and no damage has been made so far.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<br />
I don't blame you if you get confuse choosing which X100F version you should get, the silver X100F or the black X100F as they both are great looking cameras. I hope this article can help you decided which one you should pick up.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
By the way, the silver version of X100F is called 'Silver Argent', while the black is called 'Black Noir', you can see this in the box of X100F. This is the same as the previous generation of X100 cameras (X100T, X100S).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLF8QwfrZLPJtndhTBoJDEK9ebw7m6PTPLOY8RTzSDk1J6JY_8z8TGCiEkWzUNAqL0D3ipe6UzQYQ81Zd-qCERTvWrIXa4UGizMBzUsIMdTHP7gQGlNFZfiB-5HgsSzH_cGTgVN3Y7r5jz/s1600/x100f-silver-argent-box.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="silver argent X100F" border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLF8QwfrZLPJtndhTBoJDEK9ebw7m6PTPLOY8RTzSDk1J6JY_8z8TGCiEkWzUNAqL0D3ipe6UzQYQ81Zd-qCERTvWrIXa4UGizMBzUsIMdTHP7gQGlNFZfiB-5HgsSzH_cGTgVN3Y7r5jz/s320/x100f-silver-argent-box.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I always thought that the black version of X100 series camera, is more stealth, not conspicuous, and unobtrusive compared to the silver version of X100 series camera. The silver is attract more attention when you use it on the street.<br />
<br />
But i started to doubt that, in my experience shooting with silver X100 series camera, people are just ignored me, they think i'm a hipster shooting with old camera. Maybe the silver X100 series camera is more stealth than the black one.<br />
<br />
One thing to consider is that if you already have accessories for the black version of X100 series camera, like for example black TCL-X100 or black WCL-X100, then getting the silver body will get you mix color when using the conversion lens, unless that's what you want.<br />
<br />
Another accessories that you might think is the third party lens hood, it comes in two color silver and black, make sure it match with the body, otherwise it will look weird. And if you have the small fuji flash EF-X20, it looks nicer on a black X100F body.<br />
<br />
You wouldn't regret choosing either the black or the silver X100F, they both excellent, but if possible get the silver because it's sexier, unless you already have accessories for black X100 then get the black one.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYqbkrs7JTYPwhJxjQkvpMNOG1fGzZMC7_dlMnKYWmGik4QzP3dYTyn4HF774vKrtmwc2yHLCT566w876pnOxVgRCNUYM8GWAbNLNjzLXWLDu1iCguEKHMjLpO48ta5-Tn3H1wQW9OYCYc/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top-view.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="5 reasons why you should not buy X100F" border="0" data-original-height="459" data-original-width="700" height="261" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYqbkrs7JTYPwhJxjQkvpMNOG1fGzZMC7_dlMnKYWmGik4QzP3dYTyn4HF774vKrtmwc2yHLCT566w876pnOxVgRCNUYM8GWAbNLNjzLXWLDu1iCguEKHMjLpO48ta5-Tn3H1wQW9OYCYc/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top-view.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: justify;">Here's 5 reasons why you should not buy fujifilm X100F (NOTE: these are just my personal opinion)</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="text-align: justify;"><b><u>1. You already have X100S or X100T</u></b></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you already own X100S or X100T, i would not recommend for you to buy X100F, simply because the image quality is not significantly different, except for the higher megapixels.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"><b><u>2. You already own so many cameras</u></b></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you already own so many cameras, there is no reasons for you to add another one (unless you are a collector), heal yourself from G.A.S (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), think less about the gear and enjoy photography more.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"><b><u>3. You don't have any money</u></b></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With a price tag of 1,300 US dollars, fujifilm X100F is not a cheap camera by any means, if you don't have the budget then stop thinking of getting one, there are other cameras that cheaper but still can produce good images.</div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>4. You can't live with just one focal length</u></b><br />
If you are a 'zoom lens' or a 'multi focal length' type of person, you are not going to be happy with X100F, simply because you can't change the lens. But you do have options for two type of conversion lens (tele and wide), and with X100F you also have options for digital teleconverter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u><br /></u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>5. You mainly shoot video</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although the video capability has been improved over the previous generation, i would not recommend anyone who mainly shoot video to pick up this camera, there are other cameras that's better than X100F in terms of video recording.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of course there are more reasons why you should not buy X100F, but those are my top 5 reasons why someone should not buy fujifilm X100F. Fujifilm X100F is a great camera, but it is not a camera for everybody, most people will love it but some will hate it.</div>
kernel-panichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13295520415276812498noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5198446600745240423.post-56516783908346950052017-06-23T06:36:00.001-07:002017-06-23T06:38:55.223-07:005 reasons why you should buy X100F<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG3K_KVluMgTzBbE7I1JErzpIwOc5pyexLal6bPh22COC45BXMp3FJsNzj5k1KsErX4zKx4pfy39UA_BSyIC9-pVO5dGNIdQAdtJkZGf9FeDpySnhnp4J9X-dSbb-ZNFpUegrnV8LSUX7S/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top2-view.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="5 reasons why you should buy X100F" border="0" data-original-height="614" data-original-width="1000" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG3K_KVluMgTzBbE7I1JErzpIwOc5pyexLal6bPh22COC45BXMp3FJsNzj5k1KsErX4zKx4pfy39UA_BSyIC9-pVO5dGNIdQAdtJkZGf9FeDpySnhnp4J9X-dSbb-ZNFpUegrnV8LSUX7S/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top2-view.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's 5 reasons why you should buy fujifilm X100F (NOTE: these are just my personal opinion)</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<b><u>1. Leaf shutter</u></b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One the biggest benefit of using leaf shutter camera like X100F, is that the shutter is very quite, you barely hear sound when pressing the shutter button, it's dead silent which perfect for taking stealth photos in street photography. Another benefit is that the leaf shutter allow us to do high speed sync flash, great for portrait photography.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<b><u>2. You never own X100 series camera</u></b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you never own X100 series camera before, this probably the right time to experience the X100 series camera. And getting the latest and greatest one is always a good idea, that's why you should consider buying the X100F.</div>
<div>
<b><u><br /></u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>3. You want a camera with a sensor that always clean</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Being a non interchangeable lens camera, makes the sensor on fuji X100F always clean, and for me that's a good reason why you should get it.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<b><u>4. You like the idea of "one camera one lens"</u></b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
X100F is a mirrorless camera but the lens is not interchangeable, meaning you can't change lenses, you are stuck with the 23mm F 2.0 lens. If you like the idea of one camera one lens, then X100F is perfect for you. Besides the 23mm lens, you can also add conversion lens which will makes the lens become equivalent of 50mm or 28mm focal length. With X100F there is also digital teleconverter, which basically digital crop.</div>
<b><br /></b>
<b><u>5. The X-Pro2 is too big for you</u></b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you like the range-finder style of X-Pro2, but you hate the size of that camera, then X100F is a good solution. X100F is small and compact but has the same sensor and hybrid viewfinder just like X-Pro2. The only downside is with X100F you can't change the lens.<br />
<br />
Obviously, there are more reasons why you should pick up X100F, but those are my top 5 reasons someone should consider buying the fujifilm X100F. Do you agree with my list, or you have different opinion? please comment down below.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipeb0ypYty8jUnxXYb1gPrSPOeCjgRVI-tfK70YraRWWvlBDx22fw7FbhjTsizTs-BixMCIpQNUOtaV972xSQ7xcK8MwKT82cX3pf5vbVvxqA09qiYNjEF3D9Ve7FcDR5shiaJjNdOWT7m/s1600/x100f-and-a-hat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipeb0ypYty8jUnxXYb1gPrSPOeCjgRVI-tfK70YraRWWvlBDx22fw7FbhjTsizTs-BixMCIpQNUOtaV972xSQ7xcK8MwKT82cX3pf5vbVvxqA09qiYNjEF3D9Ve7FcDR5shiaJjNdOWT7m/s400/x100f-and-a-hat.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The fujifilm X100F is a great camera, but that doesn't mean it is perfect, there are some accessories that i think can improve your shooting experience, so here's list of must have accessories for fujifilm X100F.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<ul>
<li><b>Extra batteries</b></li>
One battery is never enough for X100 series camera, it doesn't change with the new X100F, you need to have at least two spare batteries.</ul>
<ul><br />
<li><b>Soft shutter button</b></li>
Having soft shutter button on X100F will gives you a better feeling when pressing the shutter button, get couple of soft shutter button (the cheap one) for your X100F because they can easily fell off.</ul>
<ul><br />
<li><b>Third party lens hood</b></li>
Why third party lens hood? because it's a lot cheaper than the original fuji lens hood and adapter ring (LH-100 hood and AR-X100), the purpose of using lens hood on X100F is to prevent flare and to protect the lens. It also makes the camera look cooler.</ul>
<ul><br />
<li><b>Travel tripod</b></li>
A tripod is also a must have accessories for X100F, using a tripod can give you better stability, specially if you shoot in slow shutter speed. The good thing is, you don't need a big and heavy tripod for X100F, a lightweight travel tripod should be enough. In fact, you can also use smartphone tripod with X100F, since the camera is small and lightweight.</ul>
<ul><br />
<li><b>External flash + wireless trigger [for portrait shooter]</b></li>
The benefit of having leaf shutter is that you can do high speed sync flash, even on outdoor and during daylight, you really can kill the ambient light. A flash and wireless trigger is a must have if you do a lot of portrait shoot with X100F, otherwise this accessories is optional.</ul>
<ul><br />
<li><b>Filter kit system [for landscape shooter]</b></li>
A camera without a set of filters is like swimming on the river that have no water at all, for landscape shooter filter is a must. If you don't shoot landscape then this accessories is optional for you.</ul>
<ul><br /></ul>
<ul>
<li><b>TCL-X100 [for portrait shooter]</b></li>
The TCL-X100 turn the standard 35mm lens on X100F into 50mm lens, the ideal focal length for portrait shoot, must have if you shoot a lot of portrait with X100F</ul>
<ul><br />
<li><b>WCL-X100 [for landscape shooter]</b></li>
The WCL-X100 turn the standard 35mm lens on X100F into 28mm lens, gives you slightly wider perspective, perfect for landscape shooter and must have if you shoot a lot of landscape with X100F.
</ul>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh96QZCo8es4IRwKZ4XLoy-fPJAurU8ytnUsmYlFOczA4eNRKAILL3963cTZ0wH73Vog2WC48eWETZgGOvSnXwpW5VzAmRzCP8zzaV-7Go9NuF8kxxq1JOWfysZ1rUB_J1V1MB5A14iXzS/s1600/x100s-microphone-st1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh96QZCo8es4IRwKZ4XLoy-fPJAurU8ytnUsmYlFOczA4eNRKAILL3963cTZ0wH73Vog2WC48eWETZgGOvSnXwpW5VzAmRzCP8zzaV-7Go9NuF8kxxq1JOWfysZ1rUB_J1V1MB5A14iXzS/s320/x100s-microphone-st1.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Since the movie quality has been improved on X100F over the previous model, you might be interested to record some videos with X100F. The X100F do have a mic input, so you can get better audio using external mic.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The mic input jack is available since X100T, so X100T and X100F they both have external microphone input jack. Sadly the type of mic input is 2.5mm audio jack, both cameras use the same 2.5mm audio jack.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can use microphone made by fujifilm, the ST-1 microphone, which have the same 2.5mm audio jack, so you can just plug-in to the camera. But what if i want to use other microphone such as rode? well in that case you are going to need an adapter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You need to have the 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male audio jack adapter/converter, you can find this adapter somewhere online. The 3.5mm female to 2.5mm male audio converter looks like this:<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOGgzz7bCisYNWyFffw7bUoHi8aPLhE-ZoMWiPrkifQ4ybkwGIoIWKiJNSz2x2CsnNZ1p7ysbn3wOdqlv8LBHCHcgnPJK7jCOdREo7Ss71258_2tpvKkTx9qJTMLsKdXTfNLN-QKWvwHwY/s1600/2%252C5mm-to-3%252C5mm-audio-jack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOGgzz7bCisYNWyFffw7bUoHi8aPLhE-ZoMWiPrkifQ4ybkwGIoIWKiJNSz2x2CsnNZ1p7ysbn3wOdqlv8LBHCHcgnPJK7jCOdREo7Ss71258_2tpvKkTx9qJTMLsKdXTfNLN-QKWvwHwY/s400/2%252C5mm-to-3%252C5mm-audio-jack.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once you have the adapter/converter, you can plug-in your external mic to X100F, but make sure that your external mic has it's own power source, otherwise you won't hear anything, it won't record any sound at all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And one more thing, on the camera setting you need to choose 'mic' instead of 'remote', you can find this setting under movie record setup, also there should be mic level adjustment which can be handy for adjusting the sound level. </div>
kernel-panichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13295520415276812498noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5198446600745240423.post-30557487245347521842017-04-29T07:36:00.000-07:002017-04-30T08:44:14.709-07:00The reason why i don't switch to X100F<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh70nAoIWP5Kgk84y6wLWRmzsigCZpz3DwJotm4UF5LaoOARKXgViP2lTagxBmwhGHCAP99drf71aAcP9oNg-yMeZaM-Zn4wPj8rme-6fLsT02bRURmNqNt7MWmMiI1DlAkZSt9xEnhCcSG/s1600/fujifilm-x100t-silver-with-tcl-x100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh70nAoIWP5Kgk84y6wLWRmzsigCZpz3DwJotm4UF5LaoOARKXgViP2lTagxBmwhGHCAP99drf71aAcP9oNg-yMeZaM-Zn4wPj8rme-6fLsT02bRURmNqNt7MWmMiI1DlAkZSt9xEnhCcSG/s400/fujifilm-x100t-silver-with-tcl-x100.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The X100F is the fourth generation of the legendary X100 series camera, it has new sensor 24 megapixels and faster processor, but that doesn't make me want to upgrade, i'm keeping my X100T and here's the reasons why i don't upgrade to the F.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First of all i don't think upgrading my current camera the X100T to X100F is necessary for me because it's not a massive change, the image quality is pretty much the same, just the resolution is higher on the X100F.<br />
<br />
It would be different if X100F is using a totally new lens design, if that's the case i would considering to upgrade. If X100F using a new lens, the image quality and focus would be so much better and probably weather sealing can be added too.<br />
<br />
All the advance features in X100F is very nice, but not enough to make me upgrade, i still believe that using the newest and the greatest camera doesn't mean it will make me a better photographer. The skill of the photographer itself is more important than the gear.<br />
<br />
But that's just me, your case might be different than mine, if you are looking for new camera, that's lightweight, produce excellent image and have retro design plus you don't own any of the previous X100 series camera, then go for it, X100F is a great camera.<br />
<br />
If your budget is not enough for a brand new X100F, then look at the second hand X100T or X100S, the original X100 is also good, but i don't recommend it unless you are in very tight budget, because the focusing on the original X100 is terrible (both manual and auto focus).<br />
<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_6wDgeAw0nvx1X60qtNncs595FPU_whYQin_SOA0Z5n-YITvdagkCPxP7-2FnjUW0XpWPb6cvCB1jU-9HbmixtFS9MGeeW9WdKW0Vfr_fFs_4Do_dv3bdVoDWIGi6vs1PiBNDXmm9ehjs/s1600/Fuji-X100T.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Fuji X100 series: OVF vs EVF" border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_6wDgeAw0nvx1X60qtNncs595FPU_whYQin_SOA0Z5n-YITvdagkCPxP7-2FnjUW0XpWPb6cvCB1jU-9HbmixtFS9MGeeW9WdKW0Vfr_fFs_4Do_dv3bdVoDWIGi6vs1PiBNDXmm9ehjs/s400/Fuji-X100T.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
One of the coolest thing about X100 series camera is that it has two choices for viewfinder, optical viewfinder (OVF) and electronic viewfinder (EVF). With X100T and X100F it goes even further, you can have small screen for checking focus and exposure while on optical viewfinder mode, this feature is called ERF (Electronic Range Finder).<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Optical viewfinder and electronic viewfinder has it's own advantages and disadvantages, the optical viewfinder is lag free and noise free because basically you are looking at the real situation in front of your camera.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But with optical viewfinder you can't see the exposure, you have no idea the exposure of the final image would look like, weather it's too bright, too dark or perfectly balance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another problem with optical viewfinder is parallax issue, this occurs specially when you are shooting something very close. Because of the viewfinder and the lens are not line up, parallax issue is very common thing in range finder camera.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The electronic viewfinder however, have no parallax issue, so framing is a lot more accurate, plus you can see the exposure very clearly, what you see is what you get.<br />
<br />
But the downside of electronic viewfinder is that it can get lag specially on low light situation and also you can see the noise in the viewfinder although it's not appearing on the final image.<br />
<br />
If you coming from analog camera (film camera) background you probably use the OVF all the time, that's fine, but if you are a beginner photographer, using the EVF is probably much easier.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Between the optical and electronic which one do you use the most and why? and if you use X100T or X100F do you actually use the ERF mode? i want to know your opinion, please comment down below.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvkLzFzsCuL0LECIc3AVKsngK3Z6ZD0IZY5zSvMt4AuIcoqO1Y6cl6fOZ9jbqT3sShgMgf2l12zhxVb0167X8x-FvoWYdl-qCw_mD1oZcCgtUUp1iNvcplBRSXJhdNHxYV-TjBqWNTbJ61/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top-view.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="FujiFilm X100F review" border="0" height="261" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvkLzFzsCuL0LECIc3AVKsngK3Z6ZD0IZY5zSvMt4AuIcoqO1Y6cl6fOZ9jbqT3sShgMgf2l12zhxVb0167X8x-FvoWYdl-qCw_mD1oZcCgtUUp1iNvcplBRSXJhdNHxYV-TjBqWNTbJ61/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top-view.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay, it's time for me to do a review for X100F, note that i don't own the camera, i only borrow it from my friend for one week, so this review is based on one week usage of the camera.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>The Handling</u></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The X100F feels good in the hands, but camera body is slightly thicker and heavier than X100T, most people probably won't realize it, unless comparing it side by side.<br />
<br />
The on/off switch on X100F is not easily to turn on like the one on X100T, which is good and the position of the movie record button is now deeper so you don't have to worry that you accidentally press it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The X100F now have front wheel dial, which for me is very useful, you can customize this button for anything you like such as changing iso, aperture or anything else, the front wheel dial is something that i wish i had on my X100T.<br />
<br />
Another good addition on X100F is the focus selector joystick, i'm type of person that move the focus point a lot when shooting, moving around the focus point with a joystick on X100F is so much easier and faster, i love it!<br />
<br />
Fuji also add ISO dial from X-Pro2 to the X100F, with this feature you can set the ISO even when the camera is turn off. But this ISO dial is not very practical when you want to change ISO while shooting with the viewfinder.<br />
<br />
On the back the button layout is much cleaner, everything is on the right side now, there are no buttons on the left side, so with X100F it is easier to operate with just one hand.<br />
<br />
Overall the handling and user experience on X100F is much improved over the previous version (X100T), Basically, X100F is still the good looking old school style camera that we know but with more buttons and dials and better ergonomic.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirOtf4NgxCKyNMgbzrh25c5v925ZgyWyOFKv4BlLUIYmud7s_4vNxZIglgtVscGFCGLm1kFd3GB2Zn0NL5f1ekk8SJIk4dKkvqp7gx7QcAwsecDhAav4Y3AM2HFzWLK7Q87p4cfXFG5ats/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="FujiFilm X100F review" border="0" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirOtf4NgxCKyNMgbzrh25c5v925ZgyWyOFKv4BlLUIYmud7s_4vNxZIglgtVscGFCGLm1kFd3GB2Zn0NL5f1ekk8SJIk4dKkvqp7gx7QcAwsecDhAav4Y3AM2HFzWLK7Q87p4cfXFG5ats/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<b><u>The New Features</u></b><br />
X100F have digital teleconverter feature just like X70, but in different focal length, on X100F is 50mm and 75mm focal length. Digital teleconverter is basically a digital crop, so the camera let you crop the image to get different focal length experience.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, this digital teleconverter only works in JPEG mode, not in raw, maybe fuji could make this digital teleconverter in raw mode, just like the one on leica q camera, that would be nice.<br />
<br />
Besides the digital teleconverter, you also have choice for teleconverter lens 28mm and 50mm, the old teleconverter lens (TCL-X100 and WCL-X100) will works fine on X100F, but there are new version that specifically design for X100F.<br />
<br />
The new acros film simulation is great addition, i wish i had this film simulation on my X100T, i always love shoot in black in white, i absolutely love acros.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4w40Kzry-Q4E4zp9CFxrLvPB5861xZZijNzVDeP8ijJGlILXUrvv7Z_EY5fg36kfFmKY03tQgXmgnG7Igd-JSZOKpby66OUgFjoQjUYRSeO2SeQ14YfZCAcAJ2rlzOtj1mwN6wEoYL7O2/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-rear-view.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="FujiFilm X100F review" border="0" height="242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4w40Kzry-Q4E4zp9CFxrLvPB5861xZZijNzVDeP8ijJGlILXUrvv7Z_EY5fg36kfFmKY03tQgXmgnG7Igd-JSZOKpby66OUgFjoQjUYRSeO2SeQ14YfZCAcAJ2rlzOtj1mwN6wEoYL7O2/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-rear-view.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><u>The Image Quality</u></b><br />
Let's talk about image quality, X100F has a new sensor 24 mega pixels X-Trans CMOS version 3, which the same as X-Pro2, X-T2, and X-T20, so technically in terms of image quality, X100F has the same as the image quality as the other X-Trans 3 cameras, minus the lens of course.<br />
<br />
But when i compare images coming from X100F with the images from X100T, honestly i don't see much of a difference in terms of image quality, maybe the F have a better dynamic range, but that's all, i don't even see it clearly in the photos that i took.<br />
<br />
This probably because of the lens, it's still the same 23mm F2.0, which sharp starting at F2.8 and above, but very soft around the edge at F2.0. I think if fuji came out with new lens on X100F, it could maximize the sensor, the image quality would be better than the rest of X100 series.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0oLZUsKKBvDGyuIrQJq7BAu1ZPTelP5CUR0uYrsl4ln75NkCp_uGi3FbPOb3303QZd7gONj-Ipckqixf2xyrybErekG3GOwIbyvIROiiHVRQxwWgd6w_h4U2QqIJmBPTys_sVg1ja3LCO/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top2-view.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="FujiFilm X100F review" border="0" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0oLZUsKKBvDGyuIrQJq7BAu1ZPTelP5CUR0uYrsl4ln75NkCp_uGi3FbPOb3303QZd7gONj-Ipckqixf2xyrybErekG3GOwIbyvIROiiHVRQxwWgd6w_h4U2QqIJmBPTys_sVg1ja3LCO/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top2-view.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<b><u>The Video Quality</u></b><br />
Although X100F and X-Pro2 have the same sensor and processor as the X-T2 and X-T20, X100F and X-Pro2 only shoot video at maximum full HD 1080p resolution. You probably don't really care about this because most people buying this camera for still image.<br />
<br />
The good thing is the full HD video on X100F is much more improve over the previous X100T, the video quality is good, as good as the one on X-Pro2. Again you probably don't care about this, but for those who care, just let you know that you can shoot good quality 1080p video on X100F.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ1kwle8PQKiGxPIKLF7KhLgilDYzXJC-G0jWdMf2PhUTDevZWuEQ2Hp_g4XChIzWVmSPN9ZrhKvVIarfHa7Z8i2T-7oxhMLNfUj79igAgBHCMPYdVooR0I7_lqWApgTls9IT7DkBqa602/s1600/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top3-view.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="FujiFilm X100F review" border="0" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ1kwle8PQKiGxPIKLF7KhLgilDYzXJC-G0jWdMf2PhUTDevZWuEQ2Hp_g4XChIzWVmSPN9ZrhKvVIarfHa7Z8i2T-7oxhMLNfUj79igAgBHCMPYdVooR0I7_lqWApgTls9IT7DkBqa602/s400/fuji-x100f-silver-edition-top3-view.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<b><u>My Conclusion</u></b><br />
Despite the new sensor and processor on X100F, in real world situation the image quality is not much improved over the previous generation of X100 series, dear fuji maybe it's time to change that 23mm f2.0 lens for the next version of X100. Until that happens, i'm going to keep my X100T.<br />
<br />
If you never have X100 series in your life before, the X100F is the one to get, it is currently the latest and the greatest of all X100 series cameras. The price though is not cheap, X100F is more expensive than X100T, if $1,399.99 USD not a problem for you, then go get this camera.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEWHYvMrJrSzybebr1R73XhEc1H-VlLJFuUrkBerPRpQJMGAACC1OBggM3tdEbl-FB0yumnZ0EoLs7nDhc07YkuAkSWRfPnGUdp6OComGzIv8yk4ZTOJI6JYRzvg53HndEOItwVfNjKeMw/s1600/x100s-blue-lizard-signature-51-L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Bigger battery capacity for X100T" border="0" data-original-height="532" data-original-width="800" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEWHYvMrJrSzybebr1R73XhEc1H-VlLJFuUrkBerPRpQJMGAACC1OBggM3tdEbl-FB0yumnZ0EoLs7nDhc07YkuAkSWRfPnGUdp6OComGzIv8yk4ZTOJI6JYRzvg53HndEOItwVfNjKeMw/s400/x100s-blue-lizard-signature-51-L.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The original battery that came with X100T have a capacity of 1800 mAh, this is the standard capacity of NP-95 battery that has been use since the first X100 back in 2011.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you want battery with bigger capacity, look for third party batteries, there are some third party brand that making NP-95 battery with larger capacity up to 2200 mAh or even 2600 mAh.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So not only cheaper but also the capacity is higher than the original fujifilm NP-95 battery, having bigger battery capacity means you can shoot longer and that's very important.<br />
<br />
<u>Here's some of the third party brand that offers higher capacity battery:</u><br />
<ul>
<li>Wasabi power (2200 mAh)</li>
<li>Durapro (2200 mAh)</li>
<li>STK (2000 mAh)</li>
<li>Powerextra (2200 mAh)</li>
<li>Efortek (2200 mAh)</li>
<li>Kastar (2600 mAh)</li>
</ul>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4XDoqRQVUykJ3YQ-Bk1DOE5Ljw64JVv3hjLADQHbAVbpVMM0b6MiB5TmVLhDa-tdG890PV4NbMZe08k8QVMBLZ7PJIr_a0p925IjVR-FePtVZc2b775DrTibmMmZ_jJXKyHcLR3NAv6Gd/s1600/18490092032_ba47a16ccb_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Bigger battery capacity for X100T" border="0" data-original-height="683" data-original-width="1024" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4XDoqRQVUykJ3YQ-Bk1DOE5Ljw64JVv3hjLADQHbAVbpVMM0b6MiB5TmVLhDa-tdG890PV4NbMZe08k8QVMBLZ7PJIr_a0p925IjVR-FePtVZc2b775DrTibmMmZ_jJXKyHcLR3NAv6Gd/s400/18490092032_ba47a16ccb_b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You can find these third party NP-95 battery on amazon, ebay, or import directly from china, because i believe these batteries are all made in china, they just labeled or branded in united state, i guess.<br />
<br />
I currently use couple of wasabi power and the durapro batteries for my X100T. And from my testing and daily use, i can confirm that these third party batteries are last longer than the original battery from fuji.<br />
<br />
Unlike the X100F, the original X100, X100S and X100T uses the same battery type, the NP-95, if you own one of these three cameras, you should consider purchasing third party battery with larger capacity.<br />
<br />
Having spare battery is very important for any X100 series shooter, in fact all mirrorless camera should be backed up with tons of batteries because it's currently the weakness of mirrorless camera.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh20lc7VgCwszR0_TbUJndT0Wy49udJ8KRW3i1sdh0ltrH3WyvhHEjck1WfS0n6bZFliobpmsistn3aaSZUIzTcepe6eXDXfPXbWPN9tuctKXjCx5RlWbfxJGuNSZEQc65o0EQd6gRhl_z/s1600/quick-strap-sling-fuji-x100t.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="quick strap sling for fujifilm X100T" border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh20lc7VgCwszR0_TbUJndT0Wy49udJ8KRW3i1sdh0ltrH3WyvhHEjck1WfS0n6bZFliobpmsistn3aaSZUIzTcepe6eXDXfPXbWPN9tuctKXjCx5RlWbfxJGuNSZEQc65o0EQd6gRhl_z/s400/quick-strap-sling-fuji-x100t.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Besides a <a href="http://fujix100t.blogspot.co.id/2016/06/changyin-cy-20-flash-with-x100t.html">cheap speedlite</a>, i also use a cheap sling style camera strap for my X100T, if you know the famous brand for sling strap called 'black rapid', this is something like that but way more cheaper.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I always want a sling strap for my camera, after i watch zack arias on youtube, he was using X100S and X-Pro1 on his black rapid strap, it's so cool and i want one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But after i look online and see the price, i knew i couldn't afford it, too expensive for me, for just a camera strap. But then i saw one of my friend who shoot DSLR using a sling strap, but it's not a black rapid.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It turn out to be a chinese made sling strap, they called it 'quick strap' with the 'K' letter on it, instead of 'R' like the one on black rapid strap. This is a chinese version of black rapid sling strap, cost about $9 dollar which is very very cheap compared with black rapid.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of course the black rapid is more solid, it's a better quality strap overall, that's why it's more expensive, and for those who can't afford black rapid, the chinese sling strap is good alternative.<br />
<br />
Judging from the material, the 'quick strap' seems not suitable for big camera and big lenses, although it's still okay for small DSLR with small lenses, i wouldn't use this strap for big and heavy DSLR for sure, but if you use mirrorless camera like X100T, this camera strap is recommended.<br />
<br />

On <a href="http://fujix100t.blogspot.co.id/2016/06/changyin-cy-20-flash-with-x100t.html">previous post</a>, i didn't show you any photos taken with changyin CY-20 flash, so i thought on this post i will show you some sample images from my photo shoot, using CY-20 speedlite and X100T. </div>
<a name='more'></a><div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Keep in mind, i'm not a professional photographer, i'm just a hobby photographer, and this photo shoot is just about me testing the speedlite and learn more about photography.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
Oh..and also, for this photo shoot, i didn't use any light modifier like softbox or umbrella (because i don't have one), so basically on all of these photos is hard light coming from the CY-20 speedlite.<br />

<br />
On the last photo, you can see the CY-20 flash in the frame, i put it on a small tripod on the ground, the speedlite tilting up little bit, lighting the subject face.<br />
<br />
None of these photos are edited, these are JPEG straight from camera, i only reduce the resolution size of the photo in photoshop for smaller file size.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPG-2mX7raLBBpYI_bR2Lh1yOB3pbP4EecQDOsNQ46GlPLYTdLdN26kA71gzmKIPK8xaWbZggxnadz77bpa80FYjCK5TvGpzmNTJmF843a2qagwNHgrnN4jv7ftRVuMZ6kgnN9z0wDXNkE/s1600/cy-20-flash-with-x100t.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPG-2mX7raLBBpYI_bR2Lh1yOB3pbP4EecQDOsNQ46GlPLYTdLdN26kA71gzmKIPK8xaWbZggxnadz77bpa80FYjCK5TvGpzmNTJmF843a2qagwNHgrnN4jv7ftRVuMZ6kgnN9z0wDXNkE/s400/cy-20-flash-with-x100t.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I always want to get an external flash for my X100T, but as i am not a professional photographer (i'm just enthusiast/hobbies photographer), i don't want to spend a lot of money on buying expensive flash gear.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What i want is just a cheap external flash, that can light my subject properly, so i start looking online and i found this very cheap made in china flash called CY-20 Changyin.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Since it's very cheap, i decided to give it a try, the size of CY-20 speedlite is quite small, that's also another reason why i bought this flash, because of the size, it looks good when you put it on X100T. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The built quality of this speedlite is all plastic, i don't see any metal, except on the bottom of the flash, you can't expect the built quality to be nice, this is a $9 dollar speedlite.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What surprise me though, the flash can be tilt 90 degree up, which can be handy, you can bounce the light up on the ceiling, but there is no diffuser, and you can't adjust the power of the speedlite.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
CY-20 speedlite have guide number 20, according to the spec, but you can't adjust the power, so it's always on full power. You can control the power by adjusting your aperture on X100T.<br />
<br />
And by the way, you are going to be on full manual with this flash, no TTL since this flash is not meant to be for fujifilm cameras.<br />
<br />
Honestly, i don't recommend this flash for anyone at all, but if you are just want something cheap, you could give it a try, for cheap flash my recommendation would be yongnuo speedlite, that's much better than this.<br />
<br />
Besides this CY-20 speedlite, i also purchased a wireless radio trigger called 'PT-04NE', which also a cheap one, but it costs more than the speedlite itself. I need a radio trigger because i want to do off camera flash, that's the reason why i need external flash in the first place.<br />
<br />
<b><u>Tips if you want to shoot CY-20 with X100T </u></b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>set your aperture manually</li>
<li>set your shuter speed manually</li>
<li>set your ISO to the lowest ISO, which is ISO 100</li>
<li>adjust the power of the speedlite by adjusting your aperture and moving the speedlite closer or away from the subject</li>
<li>do a test shoot, to see the result, make experiments</li>
<li>adjust the white balance manually</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK5_cz-sNXwE2K4yrKujmAgKWZeI787_jtHcVixRnCezOpL_DL6LgSJISw9gl1XsJP1XDGsh1JidunUKOWEb5Xq9PAon34aWCFQWWuNJeSMhkPc38L5SYvG8BLBAdSRT1jbZ-UR_RKUyFM/s1600/silver-argent-fujifilm-x100t.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="263" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK5_cz-sNXwE2K4yrKujmAgKWZeI787_jtHcVixRnCezOpL_DL6LgSJISw9gl1XsJP1XDGsh1JidunUKOWEb5Xq9PAon34aWCFQWWuNJeSMhkPc38L5SYvG8BLBAdSRT1jbZ-UR_RKUyFM/s400/silver-argent-fujifilm-x100t.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay, let's talk about shutter count on X100 series camera, all three X100 cameras (X100, X100S, X100T) have shutter count displayed on the menu. Why it has shutter count? does it matter to you? how long the shutter life cycle?</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On X100T, you can view the number of shutter count from the 'SHOOTING MENU', scroll down and choose the blue wrench icon number 2 (SET-UP), scroll down and select the 'SHUTTER COUNT'.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The shutter count on X100 series camera is incremented each time the camera is turned off, playback mode is selected, or the OVF is activated. So the shutter count not just counted from number of the shutter button is press, but also when turn on/off the camera, playback mode is selected and the OVF activated.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Why is it like that? that's because the nature of leaf shutter, all X100 series camera uses leaf shutter instead of the traditional focal plane shutter, so for example when you press the on/off switch you actually activate the leaf shutter therefore it is counted as shutter count. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Shutter count on X100/S/T is not just the amount of times the shutter has been clicked but also every time the shutter is activated, such as when turn the camera on/off which actually activate the leaf shutter or the leaf shutter is actually being clicked.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So keep in mind that these activity will trigger the leaf shutter and counted as shutter count:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ol>
<li>clicking the shutter button</li>
<li>turn on and off the camera</li>
<li>switch to OVF mode</li>
<li>switch to playback mode</li>
</ol>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And for how long the life rate or the life cycle of the leaf shutter on X100/S/T, no one really knows, it's hard to tell, but according to fuji it will last longer than the camera itself. If that so, why fuji have to display this kind of information, it's not very useful in my opinion.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPgIbObVHlgl_jN65BcOoARGkKhYAg2BxGwgZqm1HGIqDX6BW38jK1bU4SjAS72m49PAVgX7EEPlPCvNTMMxfSYwdf2PQAU-kf6LZ7W7pjWxSwn34BzjjDAxVL21_If_0HL2oHx4xm3NU1/s1600/fujifilm-x100t-usb-charging-feature.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPgIbObVHlgl_jN65BcOoARGkKhYAg2BxGwgZqm1HGIqDX6BW38jK1bU4SjAS72m49PAVgX7EEPlPCvNTMMxfSYwdf2PQAU-kf6LZ7W7pjWxSwn34BzjjDAxVL21_If_0HL2oHx4xm3NU1/s400/fujifilm-x100t-usb-charging-feature.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We all know that the battery life on X100T is not so good, so you do need spare batteries, but even though you already have two or three spare batteries, it's still not enough if you want to shoot all day long.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One good thing about X100T is that, it's support for usb charging, that means if you have an usb power brick/ usb power bank/ usb battery pack, you can use it to charge your X100T without removing the battery.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I always have one usb power brick/ battery pack on my camera bag, and it's been very helpful, i always carry two spare battery for my X100T and one usb power brick on my bag.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH2GzRjk9txammkS0hnHG2U9y19wMACeToE_hOpymiUViYe-of2zzgj4WG_f3qSHuCmSyyARL3zYqzCMu59WZX0w_cD9aK5E44oEaxCc03PWpXddV78473MubJgLQvfsFhjX3z6fLHpo1m/s1600/fujifilm-x100t-with-xiaomi-usb-power-brick.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH2GzRjk9txammkS0hnHG2U9y19wMACeToE_hOpymiUViYe-of2zzgj4WG_f3qSHuCmSyyARL3zYqzCMu59WZX0w_cD9aK5E44oEaxCc03PWpXddV78473MubJgLQvfsFhjX3z6fLHpo1m/s400/fujifilm-x100t-with-xiaomi-usb-power-brick.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So whenever i go out shooting and when i already use all my spare batteries, i still have one more backup power with the usb power brick, although i still have to wait until the battery is fully charged.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
I'm using xiaomi 10.000 mAh battery pack, but you can use any kind of usb battery pack/power brick. With this xiaomi power brick, i can charged my X100T twice, pretty cool huh?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcfuNm366NzYVyat8pEn37kNtHMGqOkOG2Ap6w2FULFw3t80cLzSJvZvlPbPjRlkvJinTf1qiKTkkqfrJwcNJvuecq57ZHr-NsqgUXyePwRnFo0fHo_opfo0AZAQbEB0vqXZqBft3ab7sy/s1600/fujifilm-x100t-film-simulation-modes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcfuNm366NzYVyat8pEn37kNtHMGqOkOG2Ap6w2FULFw3t80cLzSJvZvlPbPjRlkvJinTf1qiKTkkqfrJwcNJvuecq57ZHr-NsqgUXyePwRnFo0fHo_opfo0AZAQbEB0vqXZqBft3ab7sy/s400/fujifilm-x100t-film-simulation-modes.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The film simulation bracketing feature on X100T lets you click the shutter button one time and produce three images, the three images can have different film simulation such as velvia, classic chrome, monochrome, etc. You can set whatever film simulation you wish to have.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's super easy and makes shooting more convenient, specially if you are type of person who like trying different kind of film simulation, maybe this particular picture will look nicer on classic chrome, other time monochrome (black and white) is better, and sometimes velvia is nicer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you are that type of person, you definitely need to use the film simulation bracketing mode on X100T, to activate film simulation bracketing on X100T, simply press the 'drive' button and then scroll down and choose 'FILM SIMULATION BKT'.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To set the film simulation for the three images, you can press the 'Menu OK' button and then under 'SHOOTING MENU' number 1, scroll down and select the 'FILM SIMULATION BKT', set your film simulation for FILM 1, FILM 2 and FILM 3, now you are ready to shoot.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Film simulation bracketing is a nice feature, but it has some drawback, the biggest drawback is that it will makes shooting slower, because there is a delay between each shoot, the delay is because the camera need times to produce the three images.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So when shooting with film simulation bracketing (or any other bracketing actually), after taking one shoot the camera will not immediately ready for the next shoot, and you might think having faster memory card will help this issue, but it won't.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't use film simulation bracketing if you shoot something with fast moving action or if you shoot repeatedly in a quick change environment. Film simulation bracketing is definitely not suitable for sport and street photography with fast moving subject.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another drawback with film simulation bracketing is that your memory card will fill up quickly than normal, because basically you take three pictures every time you press the shutter button.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you like trying different film simulation but don't want to use the film simulation bracketing mode because it's slow (have delay), you can take advantage of the built in RAW conversion on X100T, simply shoot in RAW and then convert it to JPEG with your desired film simulation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
